NHOTA Grants
NHOTA CONTINUING EDUCATION GRANT
The New Hampshire Occupational Therapy Association (NHOTA) will offer two continuing education grants for the shared benefit of the practitioner and the Membership. Grants will be awarded each year to two members of NHOTA, one Grant for an event occurring during the first half of the year and one for an event occurring during the second half of the year. Each grant will not exceed $300, the amount being determined by funds raised by the Scholarship Committee. The benefits of these Continuing Education Grants will be shared with all NHOTA members via the Newsletter, website and/or other presentation.
Eligibility rules:
- Applicant must be a current NHOTA member and have active licensure in NH as an OT or OTA.
- The educational event must be directly related to occupational therapy practice.
- Grants may be used for tuition, transportation, care or any other expenses incurred directly related to the educational event.
- The event may be a future or completed event, with two grants awarded annually for events taking place either January 1 - June 30 or July 1 - December 31.
- Grant funds will be paid directly to recipient after completion of event and receipt of proof of attendance
- Recipients will be recognized at the annual NHOTA Conference and the Spring Event.
- Recipients are eligible to apply one year following receipt of the grant.
Responsibilities:
- Recipients will agree to serve on the grant selection panel for one year.
- Recipients will agree to share the information gained by making her/himself available to interested members via email, phone or other means.
- Following the event, the recipient will submit a brief written summary of the course for publication in the newsletter and on the NHOTA website. Recipient may also be asked to share the information by providing a presentation at an SIS mtg. or at annual conference, or via handouts to be provided at such events.
Selection:
- Selection will be based on the appropriateness of the event and the educational value to membership.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated active involvement in the association or through advancement of the profession by other means (i.e., research projects, on site training of students, promotion of OT, etc.)
- The grant selection panel will include the two past year recipients, three NHOTA members and the non-voting scholarship chair.
- Applications will be presented to the panel without identification.
- Panel members are not eligible to apply for the grants.
Instructions:
- Compile course information, brochure, costs, etc.
- Complete application form (if event has been completed, include course information and proof of attendance and receipts; if event has not been held yet, funds will be given upon receipt of proof of attendance and receipts)
- The grant selection panel will notify applicants regarding the selection and amount awarded by April 30th for the Spring Grant, or by October 31st, for the Fall Grant.
