The mission of NHOTA is to promote and advance occupational therapy practice and address professional issues in the state of New Hampshire. NHOTA accomplishes this mission through education, legislation, and collaboration with The American Occupational Therapy Association, consumers, community organizations, and other professional groups. NHOTA further supports the interests of its members and their efforts to expand their knowledge and skills by providing networking opportunities, continuing education, resources, and the promotion of occupational therapy. We further meet the needs of the consumers through advocacy and the delivery of professional and evidenced-based practice.

An Intro to NHOTA & Occupational Therapy

The New Hampshire Occupational Therapy Association (NHOTA) is a non-profit organization affiliated with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is the therapeutic use of self-care, work/productive activities, and play/leisure activities to increase independent function, enhance development, and prevent disability. It includes adapting tasks and the environment to maximize independence and quality of life.
